The deck and fence had not been maintained in over five years. The cedar had turned completely grey, several deck boards were splitting, and the railing was wobbly due to loose fasteners. Mildew was growing on the north-facing sections.
We replaced eight split deck boards and reinforced the railing. The entire deck and fence were power washed with a wood-safe cleaner, then treated with an oxalic acid brightener to restore the cedar's warm tone. After a 48-hour drying period, we applied Ready Seal Dark Walnut penetrating stain for long-lasting protection.
